Lancashire Cricket Club held a charity fundraiser today (Wednesday 21 March) in aid of Sport Relief.
To celebrate the ‘Whatever Moves You’ campaign for 2018, staff from across the Club took part in a variety of sports and exercise classes at Emirates Old Trafford.
Activities ranged from yoga to cricket, circuits to kick-boxing, and all funds raised went towards the charity, which aims to tackle critical issues, such as mental health, affecting people across the UK and the world.
For those who were unable to lace up their trainers, the Club hosted a ‘Spectacular Sports Bake Off’ – challenging staff to cook up storm for their colleagues. Lanky the giraffe even made a sweet appearance!
Head of Community Growth, Sandy Mitchell, said: “We’re extremely passionate about using any sport as a catalyst for helping the community – so what better opportunity than Sport Relief!?
“The Lancashire Cricket Foundation works 365 days a year to improve the lives of individuals from across the North West, but it was extremely rewarding to see everyone come together for another fantastic charity. It doesn’t matter whether that was baking a cake or leading an exercise class, I’m very proud of everyone who was involved.
“We hope that, through the dedication of our staff, we’ve managed to help support individuals across the country, and the globe.”
