Emirates Old Trafford Hilton Garden Inn has a big 12 months ahead.
In fact, 2018 will be the hotel’s first full calendar year in business at the home of Lancashire Cricket. A project that begun in 2016, now stands proudly in full fruition.
A prospect which General Manager, Michael Hewson, says his team couldn’t be more ready for.
“I can’t believe we’re here already,” he says. “It doesn’t feel like yesterday that we cut the ribbon and welcomed our first guests – now we have ‘regulars’, over 40 members of staff and a whole year of activity ahead!”
Located at Emirates Old Trafford, a multi-purpose conference and events venue, there’s never going to be a quiet week for the team.
Whether they’re working in one of the 43 meeting rooms or just three miles away in the city centre, business guests are continuing to benefit from the prime location and top quality amenities of the four star hotel.
“Business guests take up a large proportion of our rooms during the week and we’ve been incredibly proud to see large group bookings linked to The Point event space, along with our corporate accounts and major partners.
“There’s no signs of this changing for 2018, as we see more and more clients benefit from the ease of a multi-day conference or event with us. It’s always pleasing to see customers stroll from their breakfast in the restaurant, into the venue’s huge meeting spaces just a few yards away – the system really works!”
And with 2018 in full swing, what is the hotel team most looking forward to in their first full year?
“Honestly, it couldn’t be bigger!” Michael adds. “From a business events perspective we’ve already got some great group bookings to look forward, including Unilever’s Ice Cream Conference, Auto Trader and the ‘Once upon a Smile’ charity dinner - we’re revelling in growing this side of our clientele.
“It doesn’t stop in the leisure market either! Something we’re all really looking forward to is our first concert. The bedrooms will be transformed into unique hospitality suites for Liam Gallagher’s anticipated arrival in August and it’ll be incredible to see guests enjoy live music from their beds for the first time.
“We’re also working closely with the Manchester Marathon. Our hotel is literally right on the finish line and just down the road from the start point. Charity events are always an incredible spectacle but, to witness the joy of competitors in our hotel is going to be really special. We’re proud to be working with the race.
“Of course, we can never forget the cricket – how can you with a view like ours!? 2018 will be extra special because we can enjoy a full season with Lancashire Cricket, as well as two exciting fixtures with England.
“Like with the concerts, we’ll be converting rooms into hospitality areas and, with the sun hopefully taking part, they’re be no better place to be!
“Lastly but not least, our first birthday! Activity is definitely still in the planning stages but the prospect of being open for business for a whole year is something the entire team can be proud of and there’ll certainly be a cause for celebration.
“Watch this space!”
