Emirates Old Trafford is delighted to announce that it has expanded its Hilton Garden Inn team, with the appointment of an Assistant General Manager.
Sophie Atalay, who has been recruited internally and already boasts a wealth of Hilton experience, has taken up the new position at the four star hotel at the home of Lancashire Cricket Club.
Michael Hewson, General Manager, explains how the appointment follows on from a successful start for the new hotel.
“Following the launch of the Hotel last August, we have seen the business grow from strength to strength and exceeding expectations for the first six months of trading,” he said.
“I’m very excited about Sophie’s promotion and the development of the team and I look forward to continuing to see her passion for the industry put to further use as we continue to improve our financial performance and customer reputation, with the aim of becoming the leading Hilton Garden Inn in the UK.
“With the increased Management team, this allows for more focus on Sales Opportunities and developing Commercial strategy for the months and years ahead, supporting the Club aim of delivering financial stability to cricket across all levels.”
Sophie Atalay, who most recently impressed in her Food and Beverage Manager role at the hotel, has also worked at the Hilton Sheffield and Hilton Manchester Airport. She said: “I wanted to apply because I was looking for the next move in my career and have thoroughly enjoyed working in the hotel so far – so where better to start a new challenge!?
“I am most excited about working on new projects within the hotel and Club, in order to make us even more successful than we already are!”
The Hilton Garden Inn at Emirates Old Trafford opened in August 2017 and now has over 50 members of staff.
Boasting 150 bedrooms across five floors, with 85 overlooking the famous Lancashire Cricket pitch, it has become a must-visit hotel for business and leisure guests alike in Manchester.
